Stepwise Balancing

1^st pass, measure and record the airflow at all outlets.
2^nd pass, starting with the highest, adjust the outlets with excess flow difference from the 1st pass to the low end of the Goal airflow 10% range. Then record the rest.
3^rd pass, starting with the highest, adjust the outlets with excess flow difference from the 2nd pass to the Goal airflow. Then record the rest.
Three passes should get the system to within +/-10% of Goal airflow.

An issue with balancing is that the measured flow of all the outlets rarely adds up to the actual total airflow. This is because of accuracy limitations of the measuring equipment and process. This calculator proportionally adjusts the airflow goals according to the measured total. The result is that even though the measured CFM may not be exactly accurate, the system is still balanced.
